After three years research, the R&D team of Wechange Technology has successfully overcome the key technology of nanofiber liquid sterilization filter membrane and filter elements, and developed ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) nanofiber liquid sterilization filter membrane, syringe filter and pleated filter cartridges.
Until now we have basically completed the core verification of the sterilization membrane and is gradually carrying out the sterilization process verification work of pharmaceutical and food companies. This breakthrough not only marks that our filtration technology has reached a new level, but also brings revolutionary solutions to the pharmaceutical and food industries.
This time we have developed two specifications of EVOH sterilization membranes: 0.22μm pharmaceutical sterilization membrane and 0.45μm food sterilization membrane, designed for pharmaceutical production and food production processes. In addition, sterilization membrane products with other pore sizes can be customized. Compared with existing polymer microporous filtration membranes such as polyethersulfone (PES), EVOH sterilization membrane has the following advantages:
(1) Natural hydrophilic and anti-adhesive properties, which are conducive to the infiltration of drug solutions and food solutions, and are not easy to adhere to organic matter such as proteins.
(2) Based on the principle of fiber stacking, the pores are formed with heterogeneous channels, high porosity, and heterogeneous pores. While intercepting microorganisms, they provide more transport space for fluids. The channels are not easy to be blocked, which can significantly improve the filtration flux.
(3) The fibers are densely stacked and the pore size is more uniform, which is conducive to absolute interception of bacteria.
(4) Pure physical process manufacturing, no organic solvent residue and precipitation, which is conducive to ensuring the purity of drugs and foods.
With the increasing global attention to medical health and food safety, the market demand for sterilization and other microbial filtration membranes is growing. On September 27th, 2024, the project of Wuhan Weichen Technology Co., Ltd. won the first prize in the enterprise group at the 9th "Maker China" Biopharmaceutical SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition held in Nansha, Guangzhou.

Good news! The new plant was built and opened

After 5 months of construction, the new factory of our company located in in Wuhan economic and technological development zone is built. We developed a 1,000 square meter clean workshop and production lines with an annual capacity of 1 million square meters for nanofiber composite nonwoven fabric and 300,000 units for pleated filter cartridges, which is beneficial to the rapid development of the company.

WECHANGE has basically completed the core validation of the sterilization membrane and is gradually carrying out the sterilization process validation work for pharmaceutical and food enterprises. This breakthrough not only marks a new level of filtration technology strength in the field of biomanufacturing but also brings revolutionary solutions to the pharmaceutical and food industries.
Two specifications of EVOH sterilization membranes have been developed this time: a 0.22 μ m pharmaceutical sterilization membrane (with an average pore size of 120nm) and a 0.45 μ m food sterilization membrane (with an average pore size of 410nm), tailored for pharmaceutical and food production processes, respectively. In addition, customized sterilization membrane products with other pore sizes can be also developed according to the special needs of customers. Compared to existing polymer microporous filtration membranes such as polyethersulfone (PES), EVOH sterilization membranes possess the following merits:
